Top 10 for 11/12

I didnt do a top 10 last week, to be honest i was flat tired I went to APp St GSU game on Saturday and then Dallas Atlanta Sunday night, so games back to back days. I dont like my top 10 at all, the SEC is just a monster Conference and 4-10 is just a crap shoot at this point.

So here you go:

1)OREGON: They were played tough in the first half. They come out in the 2nd half and blow the doors off of California. WOW!!!!!

2)KANSAS STATE: Klien is a MONSTER!!!!!

3)ALABAMA: Although they come out flat in the first quarter and give up 21 early points, I still think they are a top 3 team and they had a chance to win the game.

4)LSU: I dont know if they belong here with 2 losses, but they have a win vs. AM. I know they are better than Notre Dame, so I cant justify having them below ND. They lose a close game 2 weeks ago vs Bama, so they stay here.

5)TEXAS A&M: Johnny Football is the real deal, the come out and put a quick 21 on Bama in T Town and then hang on for dear life.

6)NOTRE DAME: I know they are #3 in the BCS, but after struggling 2weeks ago to a not very good Pittsburgh team and then barely getting by

7)FLORIDA STATE: These guys get past a very pesky VT at home on Thursday night, which is saying something. Wierd things tend to happen in Blacksburg on a Thursday night.

8)GEORGIA: Wins the East with a thumping of a not very good Auburn team. I have seen the 2 headed freshman running backs on tv, actually saw them in person, and they are good, I mean really good.

9)FLORIDA: Barely squeeks by ULL at home, but a W is a W last time I checked.

10)OHIO STATE: Although the are not bowl elgiable, they are still pretty good.

My top 10 for 10/29

Here is my top 10 for the week of  10/29:

1)ALABAMA: Bama rolls over MSU at home 38-7. This was their first true test and they passed with flying colors. They jumped out to a fast start 14-0 in the first quarter and have now outscoring thier opponents 104-3 in the 1st q this year. They did not look back. They have a test coming up in Baton Rouge at night on Saturday.

T2)OREGON: They blow the doors off of Colorado 70-14. They have not beaten a tough opponent yet, however they continue to beat the breaks off of people, and I can't have them at anything less than a tie for 2nd. Oh by the way, the defense is pretty good as well.

T2)KANSAS STATE: They should probably be alone at #2 based on thier resume. They beat another top 15 team in Texas Tech on Saturday. Klien is gaining momentum for the Hesiman trophy.

4)LSU: BYE week, they find them selves back in the top 4 after a few teams lose.

5)NOTRE DAME: As much as I dont want to say this I am slowly starting to believe that ND might be good. they go to Norman and win. The offense is still not very good but the d lead by T'eo is very good.

6)FLORIDA STATE: FSU beats a good no 6-3 Duke team. I know UGA fans will think UGA deserves to be ahead of them, but I have seen the Noles wear down a very good Clemson team at home.

7)GEORGIA: They force 6 turnovers and win an ugly game. They do not get the best effort from Aaron Murray but the defense shows up in a stout matter and help win the game.

8)FLORIDA: They have been playing over their head all season and it finally catches up with them Driskell has been tough all season, but it catches up to him as well. Florida goes -3 for the day and still only lose by 8.

9)OHIO STATE: beats Penn St. Some people may argue they should not be in the top 10 since they cant go to a bowl, but they are undefeated and would be leading a very bad Big 10 right now.

10)CLEMSON: They hang 40 on the board at Wake on a Thursday night. Watkins has a huge game.

My trip to Knoxville for Alabama Tennesse

So I went to Knoxville on Saturday for the Alabama Tennessee game. As is the case with any stadium I visit for the first time, I will blog about my trip.

The day starts with me getting a text from a friend who was suppose to go, but had too much to drink and wasn't feeling well. I was bummed, and life goes on. I had a few chores to do before I took off, I went to the bank and got my oil changed and I was off to Knoxville.  I had been flipping around to different radio stations as I often do while in the car, when I stopped on 790thezone and was listening to their college football break down for the day.  The game of interest was Bama UT so I stopped and listened. They wanted some fan interaction so I sent in a text (yes texting and driving is illegal, but 75North was wide open and had very few cars on it) and got it read on the next segment. I was fired up, as it was the first time I had a text read over the radio. Fast forward 2 hours later and I arrive in Knoxville, it only took me about 3.5 hours to get up there and it was an easy drive.
I find a place to park very easily on 17th street, pay $7 for it, and start my walk to the stadium. I am passing some orange, but I notice a whole lot of crimson as well. I pass a few scalpers but do not say anything to them. I come up to about the 3rd or 4th and ask what he wants for a ticket. He says face which is $75 and i pull out my wallet give him $80 and he gives me $5 change. We talk for a minute about my past experiences and continue on my way.I make it down to what might be the heart of downtown but im not sure. To my left is Bookstore east and across is a Firehouse subs and either a Mexican place or piazza shop, I cant remember  I cross the street to my left and walk in the book store. I see alot of orange and they have the SC Florida game on. I pause for a minute and continue through the store. i head back out and see a guy who is selling a pair, and ask him if indeed face was $75 and he said yes. I talk with him for about 10 minutes, very nice guy, and we are interrupted at least 5 times by scalpers who do not want to pay $150 for his pair of tickets. I finally decide on Firehouse and walk across the street. I order a Turkey sub and sit down at a bar watching Florida South Carolina. My food comes up I eat, clean up after myself and start to make my way down to the stadium. It is still about 2.5-3 hours before game time so I start to walk.
As I am walking, I notice one strange thing. Thier are not too many people outside tailgating. I walk past a frat house that looked like a ghost town, I was shocked. i step into the library for some much needed relief and continue on my voyage. I finally make it down to the stadium where their is a big crowd. I experience the Vol walk and just kind of hang out. I am still surprised that not much is going on. The Stadium opens 2 hous before kickoff. i kind of stumble around outside before making a decision to go inside the stadium and find my seat. I enjoy all of pregame and the Vol band come and do the big T. It was a pretty cool scene to see all the people of Rocky Top stand up and sing the UT fight song. But I notice thier is alot of Crimson in the stadium. I sit back and enjoy a good half of football. It was 23-10 Bama at half time, but it could have been alot closer. UT had the ball 1st and Goal on the 5 and only come away with 3 points. Bama also has an interception that gets turned into 7 points. Lastly, Tennessee has a wr that drops a wide open pass at about the 10 yard line that would have been 6 points right before half time. But the score is 23-10 at half. Bama comes out and goes 3 and out and the people of Tennessee think they have a chance. They exchange drives a few more times and it is stays pretty close. Bama scores a touchdown, but it gets called back on a not enough men on the line penailty. Saban goes nuts and I think he is going to blow a gasket, but he doesnt. The kick team gets called out and misses a fg. Tennessee has a shot but balks, Bama gets the ball and scores a touch, going into the 4th quarter. I still think UT is still in but has to score right now. They do not, Bama takes the ball and scores again it is now 34-10 and I leave.
I will say Knoxville is a good place. It was a very odd place not to see a ton of tailgaters but everyone was very nice. I would say the coeeds rank 4-5ish that I have been to, but the atmosphere 9 out 10.

5 things from 10/20

I usually give 5 things I have learned or noticed during the college football weekend, but since I was in Knoxville, I did not get to watch much ball. So, I will give you 5 things from UT Bama.

1) Alabama's front 7 is a top 5 front 7 in all of college football. I was really impressed with them.

2)Conversely, as good as Bama's defense is, i think they have holes in their secondary. They gave up a few big pass plays.

3)Armani Cooper is the next Julio Jones. This kid is very good and caught everything around him. I was really impressed with him.

4)Tennessee's front 7 is pretty good, it is thier secondary that can't stop anybody, thus they are awful.

5)Tennessee has to learn to put the ball in the endzone. 1st and goal from the 5 and all you come away with is 3 points, this will not win you games against big time opponents. You need 7!!!!!

Top 10 for the week of 10/22

Here is my top 10 for the week of 10/22

1)ALABAMA: I was in Knoxville on Saturday and man are these guys good. McCarron is a very good qb and has not thrown an int this season. The front 7 is just stupid good, questions on the back end but overall a very good team.

2)FLORIDA: They force 3 tournovers and turn it into 21 points. The defense is very fast and very good, the juniors on the D, were Meyer's last recruits.

3)OREGON: They blew the doors off of Arizona St. I am really impressed with Ducks D. They are very good.

4)KANSAS STATE: Klien is the real deal and K State is for real.

5)LSU: Goes on the road and beats a top 25 Texas A&M team. They do not win pretty but they find a way to win. This seems to be the Les Miles way.

6)USC: Hangs a 50 spot on the board vs Colorado and is setting up a collusion course with the Ducks on November 3rd.

7)NOTRE DAME: ND defense is for real. They are shakey on offense but is carried by the defense. They narrowly escape against BYU.

8)FLORIDA STATE: FSU gets by their hated rivals the Canes, by a 33-20 margin. I still say, they are a pretty good football team.

9)OREGON STATE: Surprising team this year out of the Pac 12, although they have not hit the meat of thier schedule yet.

10)OHIO STATE:  Ohio St. beats Purdue and ot and barrely stay in my top 10.

5 games to watch on 10/20

I am going to start by saying, I am making the trip to Knoxville, for the traditional 3rd Saturday in October matchup between Alabama and Tennessee. I will have a report on my trip Wednesday or Thursday.
Now lets get to the games.

1) #7 SOUTH CAROLINA @ #2 FLORIDA: This is simple: Lattimore is dinged up and will not start. If Lattimore gets at least 20 touches South Carolina has a chance to win the Swamp. If Lattimore gets less than 20 touches South Carolina, has NO CHANCE to win. I don't think it gets much more simply than that.

2) NORTH CAROLINA @ DUKE: This is probably on noone's radar but mine. But these hated rival's in basketball come in football both boasting  5-2 records and 2-1 records in the ACC. Duke needs this game if they want to represent the Coastal division in ACC Championship game. Also, with a win Duke will become bowl eligible. So this is huge for Duke!!!!

3) #6 LSU @ # 18 TEXAS A&M: LSU comes off a huge victory last Saturday night vs the Gamecocks. They have been lights out at home but questionable on the road, with struggles at Auburn and a loss at Florida. I think they beat A&M, control Johnny Football, and set up a monster showdown Saturday night November 3rd against Alabama.

4) #4 KANSAS STATE @ # 13 WEST VIRGINIA: Before the hiccup last week by WV, I was thinking this would have been a top 7 matchup. However, it is still a top 13 matchup and looks to be a good one. Noone has really talked Hesiman trophy frontrunner to this point, but whoever wins this game weather its Klein or Smith will be in the mention.

5) MIDDLE TENNESSEE ST. @ #12 MISSISSIPPI ST.: I know what you guys are thinking, another garbage game and this guy must be drunk. But I have 2 interesting points here for this game. MTSU, ran GT out of the stadium in Atlanta, I was there and MTSU is pretty good. 2nd this is the last game before MSU faces Bama and could set up a potential top 10 showdown. So this game is huge for both teams. I think MSU wins with ease, but this game had the 2 interesting storylines, so I had to bring it up.

5 Things taken away from week 7

1) I knew this already, but this weekend just proved it more. Alabama's top 2 backs rush for 177 3td and 144 2td and grown man football works. They play tough D and run the football. Alabama is really good.

2)Notre Dame's front 7 is really good. I was really impressed with them in their win over Stanford. I still don't know how good they are, but they are a decent team right now.

3)LSU is a totally different team under the lights at Tiger Stadium. They had a huge win over South Carolina.

4) I did not think Texas would be a mess right now, however after the debacle this past weekend vs Oklahoma, Texas is a mess.

5)The bottom of the Big 10 is awful, it is like taking medicine and getting sick when i watch it.

Top 10 10/15

I am a day late, but here is my top 10:

1)ALABAMA: Is thier any surprise here? they are the best team in the nation right now. Ask Mizz about grown man football, Bamas top 2 backs had 321 yrds and 5 tds.

2)OREGON: Had a bye week.

3)FLORIDA: They take care of Vandy and set up a showdown in the Swamp with South Carolina. This should be a great game.

4)KANSAS STATE: They escape the snake pit that has become Iowa State and sets up a showdown with West Virginia.

5)LSU: The tigers get a huge win at home vs South Carolina and climb back into the top 5.

6)SOUTH CAROLINA: They lose in a very tough environment in Death Valley. But, they still have Marcus Latt and Conner Shaw leading the O and Clowney and Taylor leading the D. As long as those 4 guys are healthy, they have a shot to win any game.

7)USC: They get by the tricky Huskies and sets up a game vs Colorado this week.

8)NOTRE DAME: They beat Stanford in ot. I actually sat down and watched them for a while Saturday, they have a tough d, but I really dont know about the O.

9)FLORIDA STATE: FSU hangs a 50 spot on the board at home vs Boston College. Next up for the Noles the much hated Canes from the south.

10)OHIO STATE: Braxton Miller and the Buckeyes grace my top 10 for the first time this year. Although, they are not eligable for post season play, they have been playing well and boasts a 7-0 record.

5 games to watch on 10/13

Here are 5 games to watch tomorrow, these might not always be the top matchups, but they have something that is intriguing to me.

# 3 SOUTH CAROLINA @ # 9 LSU: Of course this is the matchup everyone wants to see tomorrow night under the lights in Death Valley. Can SC continue its winning ways after a dismantling of UGA last week. Can LSU bounce back this week after losing in the Swamp last week and only putting up 6 points. Tiger stadium will be nuts tomorrow should be a fun one.

# 5 WOFFARD @ # 7 GEORGIA SOUTHERN: Yes I am showing love to the 1aa world and to my Alma matta. Georgia Southern hosts the hated terriors of Woffard tomorrow night, in "the pretty littleest stadium in America" Woffard is undefeated thus far narrowly escaping a loss from Furman last week. GSU falls early in the Southern Conference to the Citadel and needs this win if they are going to have any chance of winning the conference and get into the 1aa tournament. GSU runs the triple o led by Swope and Robinson and are tough to stop.

# 22 TEXAS A&M @ # 23 LOUISIANA TECH: This was suppose to be played week 1 of the season, but was postponed do to a hurricane.  TA&M comes in winning 4 straight after losing their first ever SEC game to Florida. LA Tech is 5-0, both teams are in the top 12 of the nation in total yards and top 8 for scoring. You better put your track shoes on for this one. One other nugget of information, this is a 8ct kick off time, which means that gives those Louisiana people all day to get ready for the game.

# 17 STANFORD @ # 7 NOTRE DAME: ND has been tough this year led by their D who has only given up 6 points in its last 3 games. Both front 7s are pretty good. Stanford is led by Taylor and will have to have a huge game from him on the ground to beat Notre Dame. The weather man is predicting 60% chance of rain, which means this game could get ugly and wet. Who can create turnovers and get a short field, is the big question in this game.

# 11 USC @ WASHINGTON: It was just a few short weeks ago, that USC loses to Stanford. Stanford then turns around the following week and loses @ Washington. So does this mean USC will beat Washington on the road. I am not sure, but Washington's secondary led by Trufant will have to have a big day to stop Lee and Woods. Can Washington knock off its 2nd top 15 team at home this year, we will see.

5 things I learned from week 6 of the college season

1) Gino Smith has 24-0 tds to int ratio, that is flat disgusting. He is my Heisman front runner right now.

2) LSU has no offense. They have a very tough D, but until they can start doing something on offense, it will be tough sledding with the schedule they have coming up.

3) Florida and Muschamp's D is very tough and Florida is better than what i thought they were.

4)Tyler Wilson makes all the difference in the world for Arkansas. ( I already knew this but it is just proven again with them beating Auburn they way they did)

5)The only college football team that won in the state of Georgia this weekend, was Georgia Southern. GO Eagles!!!!!

Top 10 for 10/8

After a wild and crazy weekend that was the college football weekend, here is my new top 10:

1)ALABAMA: Bye Week

2)OREGON: They put a 50+ spot on the board against a top 25 team, they are on a roll right now.

3)SOUTH CAROLINA: Gets a HUGE win against a top 5 UGA team, that walked into the snake pit and got bit in teh first 6 minutes and didn't recover.

4)FLORIDA: They beat LSU at home. I honestly was dead wrong with this team, but they are pretty good.

5)WEST VIRGINIA: Continues to get into shootouts and win. They give up 45 points at Texas, but when you score 48, it is ok.

6)KANSAS STATE: K. State beats  the instate rival Jayhawks by 40, 56-16. They could potential be undefeated when they play WV in 2 weeks.

7)USC: Starts off slow and gives up 14 early points to Utah, but comes back and overcomes it and wins 38-28.

8)LSU: The lose a tough one to Florida in the swamp. They have a stout defense, but offense is hti or miss. I think they are still a top 10 team, and could give SC fits on Saturday.

9)NOTRE DAME: I am still not hooked on this team, but they have beaten everyone thus far and have a showdown with Stanford on Saturday.

10)FLORIDA STATE: Some of you might think this is too high for the Noles, after losing to an unranked NC State team, but I have seen these guys live and they are tough. They desevre to be in the top 10.

5 games 5 10/6/12

So as I write this, I am getting ready for wedding Saturday on what is the biggest college football days of the year. Yes I have pissy pants on and am LIVID, that I will be at not 1 but 2 weddings and not at a game somewhere. I would probably be in the Swamp for my 2nd top 10 matchup in 3 weeks, but im not.

1) #5 GEORGIA @ #6 SOUTH CAROLINA: You know Lattimore will get the ball 35-40 times this game, can UGA stop him and set up 3 and long, where Jones can get after Shaw. Also, what will Taylor and Clowney do against UGAs young tackles. 2 very interesting story lines to watch in this game.

2) #4 LSU @ #10 FLORIDA: The Swamp will be rocking for this one. The key in this game is to give Driskell enough time to pass the ball. Can LSU's D line cause havoc and pressure Driskell into mistakes.

3) #8 WEST VIRGINIA  @ #11 TEXAS We know WV can score with Gino Smith. the big question is with Texas, can Texas either score with Smith, or contain him enough to slow him down.

4) #23 WASHINGTON @ #2 OREGON: Washington is coming off a huge Thursday night home win vs USC and Barkley. Can they upset another top 10 team in back to back weeks, or can Thomas and company keep the high octane tempo up against a Washington D that shut Barkley and Company down.

5) #21 Nebraska @ #12 OHIO STATE: Taylor Martinez vs. Braxton Miller. Whoever has the bigger game, thier team will win, plain and simple!!!!!

3 Game Stretches

Their are 2 top 10 teams that are either in the midst of fixing to start BRUTAL 3 games stretches. I would love to hear your opinion on which team has the tougher stretch and are their other 3 game stretches that you think can compete with these 3 or tougher.
TEXAS and SOUTH CAROLINA are the 2 teams. Lets first look at Texas:
TEXAS:  Sept 29: @ Oklahoma St:
               Oct 6: West Virginia:
               Oct 13: Oklahoma (Dallas)

SOUTH CAROLINA: Oct 6: Georgia:
                                    Oct 13: @ LSU
                                    Oct 20: @ Florida

Texas has a rough 3 game stretch starting last week VS. Oklahoma St. I know they are a bit down losing both Weeden and Blackman from last year's team, but they still put out a pretty tough finished product and Stillwater is no easy place to play. West Virginia and Gino Smith come into town just a week after you go to Stillwater. Gino puts up 70 against and just stupid numbers against Baylor. The Texas defense better be ready to play and the offense better show up to play. Then after these 2 games you travel up to Dallas and get Landry Jones and the hated rival's from over the Red River in Oklahoma.

As tough as Texas's 3 game stretch looks, South Carolina draws 3 straight opponents who right now reside in the top 10, tell me that is not crazy. First up they get UGA at home. UGA led on Offense by Murray and the 2 headed freshman tandom of Gurley and Marshall (who have been impressive thus far) and on Defense by Jarvis Jones (who is #1 on Mel Kipers big board right now). They next travel to Baton Rouge which is never an easy place to win. Although they have lost the honey badger on d, they are very tough. Also, as long as you have Les Miles "the mad hatter" as your coach you can't be counted out. If you survive these first 2 then you go to the Swamp. It has been proven that Muschamp can coach defense, and Driskell, the qb, is playing alot better than I thought he would.

I give the edge to South Carolina on the tougher 3 game stretch. Let me know what you think.

5 Things that I learned about the NFL week 4

1)M. Turner still plays for the Falcons and was HUGE on Sunday vs. the Panthers.

2)Some people may say Tony Romo is in the 2nd tier of QBS along with Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, Flaco, etc. I do not buy that after 5 int game on Monday Night. I think Dallas is headed in the wrong direction.

3)I thought the Saints were in trouble with no Sean Peyton, but I would have not thought they would be 0-4.

4)Clevelands WRs can not catch the ball, and that is not good.

5)You don't see many teams hang 50 on the board, New England did against Buffalo and Brady is good!

Monday, October 1, 2012

5 Things I learned from week 5 of the CFB season

1)West Virginia can score with the best of the Big 12. Gino Smith was just flat awesome against Baylor.

2)Clemson and Florida State both win big games coming off an emotional game the week before against each other. Sometimes, you can come out flat, but both teams come away with Ws.

3)I am not sure what Trufant from Washington did against LSU, but this guy was a game changer against Stanford allowing them to put 8 and 9 guys in the box to stop the run.

4)A  Texas team who has not really played anyone this year beats an OKState team and looks to be pretty good. However, they have no time to breath as they get a red hot Gino Smith and WV team in Austin on Saturday.

5) I Knew Arkansas would miss Bobby Pitrino, but I didnt think they would miss him this much. I am not sure who has the  more worse team in the SEC West Arkansas or Auburn, both are bad!

Top 10 Week of 9/30

Here is my top 10 for the week of 9?30
1)ALABAMA: This should not be anything new.

2)OREGON: These guys just put up points and have fun scoring!

3)LSU: Struggles a while with Towson but still gets a win.

T4)GEORGIA: They survive a wild shootout with Tennessee and sets up a showdown against #7 South Carolina.

T4)FLORIDA STATE: They Beat South Florida on the road after the big win last weekend at home vs. Clemson.

6)WEST VIRGINIA: All I can say is GINO SMITH, 45-51 656 8TDS. No this was a real game not a play station game.

7)SOUTH CAROLINA: They take care of Kentucky on the road to set up a showdown with #4GEORGIA next week.

8)USC: Beats Cal 27-9. They had the 1 hiccup against Stanford but are still a very tough team.

9)KANSAS STATE: Bye Week

10)FLORIDA: Bye Week. I had a few teams I could slide in here, them Notre Dame or Texas, but I wanted to set up a 2nd top 10 SEC showdown for this weekend, as they have LSU coming into the swamp Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, September 29, 2012

5 games to watch 9/29/11

1) #25 BAYLOR @ #(WEST VIRGINIA: WV first real test in the Big 12. A Big 12 first real look at Gino Smith. Both very interesting to me.

2) #12TEXAS @ OKLAHOMA ST: OK St looses alot from last year's team but hopes to make a run at the big 12 title. Texas has its first real road test.

3) #14OHIO ST @ #20MICHIGAN ST: Michigan St's only loss is to ND who stopped the run and made a young qb beat them. Can Ohio St do this, and give the ball to  Miller with the chance to win the game?

4) TENNESSEE @ #5GEORGIA: This should be an easy win for UGA as UT isn't very good this year. But, it is an SEC showdown and UT can get back in the race with a huge upset win!

5)#17CLEMSON @ BOSTON COLLEGE: Some may look at this and laugh, but CLemson goes on the road for a 2nd straight week and comes off a big loss at the hands of FSU. Can Clemson pull it back together and get a much needed win.

MY Trip to the Doak for Clemson FSU

This was my first trip to Doak Campbell Stadium and it was AWESOME!!!!! I find a parking deck on Madison and start walking towards the stadium and to find some old college friends. I walk up Pensicola and JACK POT!!!!! This is definatly a college pregame party street. I pass some Frat houses and lots of beautiful Seminole Cooeds (for the record FSU has the #1 coeeds of the 9 schools I have been to). I see shots being taken, funnels from second floors being used, and just all kinds of cook outs and bar-b-ques. I knew if this was a preview of what was to come, then I was going to have a blast. I continue on my trip and meet up with my friends behind Dick Howser stadium, Tommy, Drew, Haley and another GSU person. I get to visit with them for about 10 minutes or so, but they were off to  some wrist band event, that I did not have a wrist band for. Luckily, I had another college friend down there Samantha, so I found her and tailgated with her.  Her friends were  very nice, offered me a great cheeseburger and soda, and I got to sit in the parking lot experienceing the tailgate at Florida State. Between the first group and the second group, I was able to find a ticket for $80 or about face value. i was really pumped and relieved that I did not have to deal with that any longer. I visit with Samantha and her group till about 6:30 and start making my way to the stadium. It wasn't a long walk, but I wanted to check out the statue outside the Doak, also they have a big drum that everyone was taking turns beating.
So once inside the stadium, I buy a coke and program and spend my time watching pregame and looking through the program. I am in there early enough to watch all of warmups and see the AMAZING run out of the Seminoles. The Spear in the middle of the field was just awesome and I had chills. It was definiately worth getting in for.
The game as back and forth and Clemson had a handle on it for a while, but just ran out of gas closing out the 3rd quarter. The crowd was electric and alot of fun, especially when FSU was doing big things. Speaking for the crowd, I got to know some very cool people around me. I met a son and dad, the son had been in a box and sat on the front row for the OU game last year, and the dad was a 99 grad and saw some very good teams come through. Also our little crowd, a surfer from Puerto Rico and his girl friend Kate (Go ahead and Roast me for only knowing the girls name) But she was a UF student who is Garnett and Gold all the way, her football knowledge was pretty sick as well. So anytime FSU would do something good, I got high 5s from these 4 people, which made the experience  all the more better. On this night FSU was the better team, led by EJ Manuel and the Defense, but Clemson's tripletts of Boyd, Ellington, and Watkins are very dangerous. I wish this would be the ACC Championship game, however Clemson and FSU are on the same side. But this was a very exciting time and very cool expereince, I recommend it to everybody. Thanks DOAK CAMPBELL for a great night!!!!!

5 things I learned from week 3

1)Arizona is pretty darn good!!!!! They have D that is outstanding. Patrick Peterson  is one of the best young corners in the league.

2)Cam Newton is going through his sophmore slump and it is going to be a long year if you area Pantehr fan.

3) I thought the Saints would be ok with out Sean Payton, I was wrong. Sean Payton's play calling ability is amazing!

4) I thought the Broncos would be the winner's of the AFC west. The AFC hs turned into a shootout.

5)I thought Houston would win the South, but not be this good and be #1 atop some Power Rankings!

5 Things I learned from weekend 4 of college Football

1) Terry Bowden is the head coach of Akron and Chuck Amonto (sp) the Old FSU D Coordinator is the DC at Akron with TB.

2)I saw Clemson's tripletts up close and Boyd, Ellington, and Watson, those guys are freaking pretty good!!!!!!

3)I had my doubts about Florida State, but after seeing them in person Saturday night, they are really good, and might play for a National Championship.

4)Bill Snyder is a good head coach. He takes K State and makes them pretty good, he leaves and they go down hill, he comes back and what do you know, they are good again. The guy can flat coach.

5)I think LSU's near defeat against Auburn will help them out later in the season. I don't know if they canget by Alabama but helps build mental toughness for later.

My top 10 for 9/24

1)ALABAMA: They are still pretty good!!!

2)OREGON: I thought the Arizona game was going to be close. Boy, was I wrong! They blow Arizona out putting up 49 points. WOW!!!!!!

3)LSU: Everybody puts together 1 perfect game a year, Auburn had their's against LSU and still lost. LSU finds a way to win and that is all you need to do.

T4)GEORGIA: They route Vandy holding the Doors to only 3 points while putting up 48. They have had 2 big defensive studs not even take the field yet in Olgetree and Rambo, and they are still laying the lumber!!!!

T4)FLORIDA STATE: My new found Seminole friends are not going to be happy that I have their Noles tied with UGA at 4. But I do. They really impressed me Saturday night, as I was in the stadium (blog post about my trip later in the week), with both Offense and Defense. I had my doubts early but after seeing them Saturday they look legit to me....

6)WEST VIRGINIA: 2 words GINO SMITH, I am still not sure how the rest of the team is, but that guy at qb will help them win alot of games.

7)STANFORD: They had their BYE week and move up 2 sports b/c of Oklahoma and Clemson losing.

8)SOUTH CAROLINA: They beat MIssouri at home. Some may I think I have them to low, but I don't know how good they are. I know they have Lattimore and that makes them pretty good.

9)USC: After losing to Stanford 2 weeks ago and dropping just out of my top 10, the Trojans are back in it. They beat California and got back on track never trailing in the game.

10)KANSAS STATE: They upset Oklahoma in Norman, which is something that is hard to do. They go down early but battle back to beat the Sooners. Look for them to maybe make some noise in the big 12, however they have a very tough schedule coming soon.

Teams that Fall out: CLEMSON and OKLAHOMA

5 Games to watch for Saturday 9/22

Here are 5 games to watch on Saturday:

1) #10CLEMSON @ #4FLORIDA STATE: This will be for the Atlantic side of the ACC. The winner of this will go onto win the division. Florida State has out scored their opponents this year like 4 million to 3, and have the top ranked D in pretty much ever major category. However, they have not played the likes of Boyd, Ellington, and Watkins. This game is going to be very fun and very close.  I will be there.....

2) MISSOURI @ #7SOUTH CAROLINA: I think this is an interesting matchup.  This is Missouri's first road test in the SEC. Will Conner Shaw be healthy enough to start and play all 4 quarters for South Carolina? Also, SC has a monster back in Lattimore, can Missouri's D hold on for 4 quarters and slow him down, remember they were good for 3 quarters against UGA, but ran out of gas. Will they run out tomorrow?

3) #22ARIZONA @ #3OREGON: Oregon has yet to face someone who can put up points with them. Enter Arizona and new coach Rich Rod, who I think got a raw deal at Michigan, and before Michigan was at WV. We all remember him at WV, they were a scoring machine. I am not sure he has the weapons yet in the desert to match the high octane O of Oregon, but this is a great 10:15 kick for the east coast.

4) #15KANSAS ST @ #6OKLAHOMA: Last year Landry Jones put up a school record 505 yards and that was on the road. K State has a 2 headed monster running the ball in Klein and Hubert, can they control the ball enough and score enough to keep up with the explosive Jones and Co.

5) #18MICHIGAN @ #12NOTRE DAME: After getting pushed around by Alabama in week 1 Michigan has rebounded nicely with 2 wins. Robinson has bounced back and will have to be big if Michigan wants to go into South Bend and win. Brian Kelly apparantly has the Irish back on the map. They shut down the high powered back from MSU last week in Bell and were able to put up some points to win. They have another tough rusher this week, which is a dual threat in Robinson. Can the D be good for 2 straight weeks?

Recaps of the games I went to over the weekend

I know its a little late and it is Wednesday, but I did go to 2 games last weekend. 1 was the Georgia Tech Virginia game and the other, the Monday Night Football game, Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos.

1st: Virginia @ Georgia Tech: I thought this was going to be a lot closer game than what it was. All I kept hearing was this is suppose to be a matchup for the Coastal Division since Va. Tech is down this year. Well what I took from the game is Virginia is not very good at all and they are over rated. Another thing that I was interested in was the big play ability of Ga. Tech. The other thing I was interested in was the big play ability of Tech's O. I watched th VT game on tv and that is the thing that is the thing I came away with, was the lack of big plays by the Triple Option offense. Well, not against Virginia. The first 3 plays  75 yrd td pass, 5 yrd dive up the middle, 75 yrd pitch for a td, 3 plays 155 yrds and 2 touches. They continued to pile up the yardage and totaling 594 of Total Offense on the day. I could have been wrong about Tech. It will be a big test this weekend in Atlanta vs. Miami.

2nd: Denver @ Atlanta: This was my first time ever seeing P Manning and it was pretty cool. I had some great people sitting around me, a couple down in front were Pats fan and the wife was studying for grad school. The guy sitting next to me Mr. M was from Italy and in the middle of a 8 games in 11 days. So I had some good conversation with all 3 of these people. But onward to the game. Matty Ice looked great and the Falcons O was in all out go mode. Manning had an uncharastic 3 ints in the 1st q and Denver had another fumble which totaled 4 tos in the 1st q, which lead to 13 Atlanta points. Atlanta's D was flying around ever where and had Manning very confused. But, once Manning settled down he was very good. It was fun watching him and Ryan go back and forth changing the play at the line. That kind of thing is very interesting to me. 1 thing that wasn't fun, were the refs. i know they are replacements (I refed and know how hard it is) but man they were not very good. I felt sorry for the ones on Denver's sideline b/c Del Rio and Fox gave them the business all game long. But over all a fun game and I can say I have seen P Manning.

But all and all a great weekend and I will be in the DOAK Saturday night for Clemson FUS

5 things I learned over the weekend in cfb

Sorry guys, this is a day later than normal. I was at the wild Monday night game last night and did not get a chance to post. i will post about the Falcons Broncos, as well as, Yellow Jackets Cavs game tomorrow.

1) Virginia is not good at all. I thought this might be a game but it was not. Virginia goes 3 and out on its first 2 possessions and Tech scores 14 points on 3 plays and the route was on.

2) Alabama has 15 Defensive players who have recorded tackles for losses. This is just mindblowing to me.

3)Driskell is a better qb than Bray. I was thinking it was a coin flip, with Florida perhaps winning, but Florida pulls away big time in the 4th quarter.

4) Don't look now, but Stanford is good. they lose Luck (the #1pick overall) and still beat USC. The o line just wore USC out in the 4th quarter, which ultimately led ao a late touchdown and a Cardinal W.

5)The Big 10 is dreadful. The only team that is decent is Ohio St and they cant go to a bowl game. I watched a little of the Michigan St Notre Dame game and it was hard to watch. This says alot from someone who has already been to 4 games this season and could be going to 8-11 more.

There it is guys 5 things I learned from the weekend, check back tomorrow night for recap and inside look from both GTs win and the Atlanta win.

Top 10 for September 17th

1)ALABAMA: They just look really good right now. They put a Bama type beat down on Wilsonless Arkansas team that really wasn't fair. They are FLAT GOOD!!!!!

2)LSU: They just geaux about their business. They hang 63 on the board against an Idaho team that was really over matched.

3)OREGON: Oregon hangs 63 on the board against Tenn Tech, more imporantly De' Anthony Thomas got going, had a big day and oh by the way  he is super fast.

4)GEORGIA: UGA puts up a school record 713 yards in a romp over the Owls of Florida Atlantic

5)OKLAHOMA: Bye Week

6):CLEMSON: They beat Furman, setting up a showdown as they travel to Doak Campbell for a top 10 matchup for probably the ACC Atlantic division title and a chance to play for an ACC Championship.

7)FLORIDA STATE: They put a beating on Wake Forrest. This sets up a showdown in the Doak Saturday night as Clemson comes to town for a battle.

8)WEST VIRGINIA: Gino Smith and WV drub James Madison. They jump out to a 21-0 lead and never look back.

9)STANFORD: Upsets last week's ranked # 3 team in USC at home Saturday night 21-14. The Cardinal offense just wears down USC up front and grind out a win. Huge Win for the team that looses Luck and some think are just a Luck and done type team.

10)SOUTH CAROLINA: I dont know if they are that good, but they grace my top 10. Lattimore and Shaw are the O, if one of them go down it will be a long day for the Ole Ball Coach. But for now both are healthy and SC is in the top 10.

5 Games to watch on Saturday

1)VIRGINIA @ GEORGIA TECH: Some might  scratch their head and say why this game. Well UNC is not eligible for the ACC Championship game, VT is down this year and play both @ Clemson and FSU at home from the other side and have a bumpy road to the Championship game. So, this might be a game for a shot to play in Charlotte. If Virginia is to shut down the option game of GT they will need a big game from lb Steve Greer. I like the Jackets in this one STING EM!!!!!

2)FLORIDA @ TENNESSEE: At one time this would be the premere game of the weekend, when the winner of this would play for this and have a shot of going to the National Championship game. Now days, this game is two programs rebuilding and really not worth a darn. It comes down to whose qb can play better: Tennessee's Brey or Florida's Driskell. Although, Tennesssee has 2 big wrs in Houston and Rodgers that will be tough for Florida to stop, I dont think Brey is the answer. I like Driskell and Florida here CHOMP CHOMP!!!!!

3)ULL @ AUBURN: Some might ask about this game. Well if you paid attention last Saturday night you would know, that ULL upset the then 8th ranked Razorback team from Arkansas. They got great pressure on Arkansas all night long, enough so to knock Tyler Wilson out and ultimately come back and win the game. Auburn hasnt been very good this year thus far, so the story line here, Does ULL upset a 2nd straight SEC West opponett or does Auburn get its first victory. Although, ULL might be drained after the huge win last week, I will take them again this week. GO WARHAWKS!!!!!!

4)USC @ STANFORD: USC has struggled vs Stanford late, can Barkley lead the high powered offense up the hwy 5 into Palo Alto and get a big win on the road today. Or can Stanford play ball control and use their 2 big TEs and get an upset. I like USC in this one GO TORJANS!!!!

3more games that have interest to me:
ARIZONA ST @ MISSOURI
NOTRE DAME @MICHIGAN ST
ALABAMA @ ARKANSAS  this would have been my #1 game to watch if Tyler Wilson would have been 100% healthy, but since hs i just in question then it is not really interesting to me.

5 things I learned from NFL week 1

So I am an NFL guy as well. I have not given the NFL the pub that I have given college yet, but it is coming. Here is my 1st installment of what I learned from the NFL.

1)P. Manning, can still play. WOW he looked good against Pittsburgh.

2)Baltimore's D might be as good as it was the year they won the Super Bowl. WOW, they shut down Dalton and the guys in the 2nd half.

3)RG3 is as good as advertised.

4)Houston is the best team in the AFC South and should win it EASILY!!!!!!

5)AP is back after tearing his ACL last year and looked pretty darn good at it as well.

5 Things I learned from week 2 of college football

1) Jarvis Jones LB for UGA is a MONSTER!!!!!!!

2) Arkansas is not very good with out Tyler Wilson.

3) USC and Oregon, might have some  company in the Pac 12, with UCLA, Arizona, and Oregon State.

4) I would never have thought with the new rankings out Florida and Tennessee would both be ranked, they are both AWFUL!!!!!!

5) Arizona puts up 59 and Rich Rod looks like he has his new team rolling early.

Top 10 for September 10

1)ALABAMA
2)LSU
3)USC
4)OREGON
Thier is no change in the top 4. These 4 teams look to be head and shoulder better than everyone else, although USC struggles a bit vs Syracuse, they have an offense that is way to explosive.

5)GEORGIA: UGA moves up to 5 after a big trip with a win to Missouri. Jarvis Jones is a MONSTER and is the real deal.

6)OKLAHOMA: Dismantles Florida A&M 69-13 and Williams rushes for 156 and 4tds. Nothing to impressive here, as they get back on tack after the scare from UTEP in week 1.

7)CLEMSON: They rout Ball St, Ellington and Boyd have big games and are looking to set up a showdown with FSU on Sept 22.

8)FLORIDA STATE: This game ends early vs Savannah State due to weather. I have never heard of this but lets just think it was a good thing for SSU.

9)WEST VIRGINIA: Although WV was off, they put up 69 points against Marshall week 1 and QB Smith looked really good running the spread.

10)MICHIGAN STATE: Sparty is in this week after beating Central Michigan. They beat Boise State last week and continue to look good. Bell is a good back that will help MSU all season long.

Fall out of my top 10: WISCONSIN and ARKANSAS

Friday, September 7, 2012

5 Games to watch on 9/8/12

1)GEORGIA @ MISSOURI: This is Missouri's 1st SEC Game. UGA has up to 4 defensive starters out, which will make it tough to contain this high octane offense coming from the Big 12. Another interesting point here is Missouri D lineman Richardson was quoted as saying "they play old man football." So I am sure Gurley and the guys will love to shove thier oldman football down the throats of Richardson and the rest of the D.

2)FLORIDA @ TEXAS A&M: Texas A&M makes its SEC debut against Florida. Florida has 1 game under thier belt and TAM does not, as they were stormed out last week. Can Driskel lead the Gators into Kyle Field and pull a win out.

3)MIAMI @KANSAS STATE: ACC v Big 12 right here. You do not see many big time matchups that are nonconference matchups anymore these days. both put up big numbers on O last week vs lesser opponents, so it will be interesting to see what they do against each other.  I feel both could be ranked from 21-25 and K State is 21.

4)PENN ST @VIRGINIA: 2 things right here. Can Penn St rebound against Virginia. 2) Virginia, with VTECH being down and UNC not eligable for ACC championship, this could be the year for the Cavs. Can they get a big win against a non conference before they head down to Atlanta next weekend in a key ACC matchup.

5)I will usually give a little tid bit about a 5th game but I can't decide about a 5th game as I have 3 tied, so I will just give you the game.
NEBRASKA @UCLA
OKLAHOMA ST @ ARIZONA
PURDUE @NOTRE DAME

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Top for Tuesday Sept 4th

1)ALABAMA: Yes I know LSU won, but Bama destroys Michigan, who I thought all along was over rated.

2)LSU: They looked pretty good against North Texas. Hillard leads a deep stable of running backs.

3)USC: Barkley, Woods, Lee and newbie Redd is an explosive offense> WATCH OUT!!!!!!

4)OREGON: Led by Mariota the high flying Ducks put a huge numbers. They could cause problems for USC.

5)OKLAHOMA: I will drop them down just to here, but could have easily dropped them further. They had all kind of trouble with UTEP.

6)GEORGIA: Welcome to the big show Todd Gurley. This guy is tough and had 3 Tds in his true freshman debut.

7)CLEMSON: Led by Boyd and Ellington they beat a decent Auburn team.

8)FLORIDA STATE: I flip Clemson and FSU this week, because FSU looses big DE AA Jenkins on the DLINE. This is going to be HUGE!

9)WISCONSIN: This could be to low for them. They have a good running back and good line, watch for them to win the Big 10.

10)ARKANSAS: Tyler Wilson was pretty good and that offense clicked. They have 1 more week to get ready for the big show down with Bama.

Things I learned over the weekend

Last year, I believe I listed 5-10 things I learned over each weekend of the college football season. I will try to do the same this year, but I must throw a disclaimer out there. I could probably give you 10 things I learned about Alabama and Michigan, but I will try to broaden the horizion a little bit.

1) Dee Milner might be the best CB in college football. He not only had an int, but was put on an island on a continues basis and was just unbelieveable.

2)TJ Yeldon is going to be a MONSTER!!!!!!!

3)Welcome to college football Todd Gurley, you are a man. I dont care if you did play against Buffalo, 100 yrd kickoff return touch and 2 more touches on the ground WOW!!!!!

4) USC's offense is for real. Barkley, Woods, Lee and the newbee Redd, from PSU will put up alot of points int he PAC 12!

5)To be a 1st team preseason All American, David Amerson didn't show up and was flat awful against Tennessee.

6) If Michigan St, wants to be a factor in the Big 10, they will need better play out of Maxwell.

7)Speaking Michigan St, Le' von Bell is pretty good, and will be a force to reckon with in the Big 10 all season.

8)LSU has a stable of backs and will be tough to deal with all season.

9)Tyler Tettleton had a good game against Penn st and will have to be big for the Bobcats of Ohio if they want to win the MAC.

10) Jordan Rodgers will surprise some people this year just because he plays for Vandy.

Saturday, September 1, 2012

5 Games to watch on Saturday 9/1/12

1) MICHIGAN ALABAMA:  This for obvious reasons: Can Michigan and the Big 10 beat an Alabama and an SEC school? After coming off a second National Championship in 3 years, how will Bama be? Alabama loses a ton on D and T Rich on O, how will this effect them. You just have too many story lines here for this game not to be interesting.  What do I think is going to happen? Even though Alabama has to find replacement answers on D for Kirkpatrick, Upshaw, and Hightower, I think they are just to fast and big on the O Line for Michigan. You can't appreciate how fast these guys are until you see them live, and I have seen them 3 times in the last 2 years. 2 much Lacey on Offense and newcomer Dickson comes in like a gang buster replacing Upshaw. Bama covers 24-10.

2) AUBURN CLEMSON: These 2 teams met last year and it was the Sammy Watkins show. This year it will be different, as Watkins is suspended for this game. However, Clemson still has Boyd and Ellington who are tough. I am not sure what to think about Auburn after losing Dyer, it could be a long year in the west for Auburn. I like Clemson here, but I am also interested  to see what Auburn has.

3)HAWAII USC: I want to see all this hype of the USC offense. Matt Barkley is presseason front runner for the Heisman and is the real deal. He has weapons on the outside like Woods, Lee and Farmer to throw the ball to. I am also interested to see if USC goes up big does Kiffin let the subs play or does he beat up on his ole buddy Norm Chow, who is now the HC at Hawaii.

4)OHIO PENN STATE: Frank Solich brings his Ohio Bobcats into a new Penn State. I simply want to see what Penn St has. I know everyone bascially jumped off the ship and left it dry. Can Ohio pick up a win against a Big 10 school.

5)MIAMI (OH) OHIO STATE: I want to see what Urban has done in the offseason  after walking into Columbus taking over a 6-7 season. Braxton Miller is back which help alot. I say withing 3 years Ohio St claims back the reigns of the Big 10, provided Urban stays.

Preseason Top 10

So college football season is upon us again. i am going to try to do better and post a few times a week during the season. Here is my first post of the season: My top 10 preseason

1) LSU: I know they loose the Honey Badger and it will be huge hole in the defense, but they still have 9 jrs and 1 soph starting for you with out TM starting. They have Zach Mettenberger starting at QB this year, which is a drastic up grade over last year and have a ton of rbs. They will be a fun team to watch.

2)ALABAMA: I know they loose alot of D, but they have 5 returning starters plus the addition of Xzavier Dickson, who will be a household name by week 3, he is that good  and is replacing Upshaw. They have the best Oline in the country and have Lacey running the ball this year. They will be tough.

3)USC: Kippin has these guys primed and ready to make a run at the national Championship. Led by Barkley, Woods, and Lee on O and returning 9 starters as well, this will be a high octane fun O to watch.

4)OKLAHOMA: They have 15 starters back this year 8 on O and 7 on D and are led by Landary Jones, who showed last year when he gets hot he can lead them to victory. They have 1 game on the schedule that is very interesting to me, November 17th @WV.  If they are still in the National Title hunt in November this game is HUGE!!!!!!

5)OREGON: I know I know, they lose Thomas and James, 2 high powered weapons on Offense, but Chip Kelly seems to be able to roll body after body into that O and not miss a beat. I think this happens again this year.

6)GEORGIA: Some might think is too high for the Dogs from Athens, but let me tell you something these guys are loaded> I know they have a few suspension issues heading into the MIZZ game week 2, but let's look at something, MIZZ has 3 freshman on the OLINE and against Brown and Gathers, good luck with that. Georgia is loaded and as talented as any team in the nation.

7)FLORIDA STATE: This team usually comes in way over hyped and has fallen flat on tis face the last few years. But Jimbo is doing being things at FSU, and I think the Noles could make a run at National Championship. They key word here "could", doesnt mean they will.

8) CLEMSON: They are loaded on O, they have the triplets on O Boyd, Ellington and Watkins and could put up some major points. They also have a date with FSU very early in the season to determine their fate, get by @FSU and you could make a run for an ACC championship, lose to FSU and it could be a long season.

9)WISCONSIN: They loose Wilson, which will be a big loss, but they have Bell who returns to run the ball and this kid is pretty darn good. I think the Big 10 or Big 12 whatever it is calling itself these days is down this year, with Michigan and Ohio State still a year or 2 away. Wisconsin starts off at 9 and the Big 10 is theirs to win.

10)ARKANSAS: The loss of Booby Petrino still keeps this team in the top 10 at 10, but if he is still coaching they are at 6 or 7. I think the loss of him as an offensive mind hurts alot, but when you have the weapons as they do on O, they are going to scare some people. They get both Bama and LSU at home, this could be a year to make a run with all of Bobby Ps players still in tact.

Week 2 of the playoffs

a quick look at the games this week:
New Orleans @ San Francisco;  SF is coming off a bye.  They have a good running game led by Frank Gore and have a good defense.  All this does not matter, because when the Saints come marching in today led by Drew Brees, they will score and score and score some more.  Saints win this one as SF doesn't have the fire power to keep up with the Saints.

Denver @ New England:  This is the battle between 2 legends, Tim Tebow and Tom Brady.  Timmy T as done a great job since taking over the starting job from Kyle Orton, but I think Tom Brady and the Pats O just has too much fire power.  Pats win here, but I don't know if they cover the 14 as that is a lot of points.

Houston @ Baltimore: This one is interesting.  I am going to go Ravens here, because they have been here and done this dance before.  But do not be surprised if Houston led by Foster and Johnson come out and surprise people.

New York G @ Green Bay:  Believe it or not this is Aaron Rodgers first home game as a starter.  I find this hard to believe.  The Giants looked great last weekend destroying the Falcons at home.  The Giants have the weapons Bradshaw, Nicks, Cruz to matchup with the Packers, but I dont think it happens.  Packers win in a wild one at home.

Bama

I will say this about the game.  I think the BCS got it right LSU ALABAMA were the 2 best teams in the nation.  If you think OSU would have done anybetter than LSU you are sadly mistaken.  Bama played Bama ball, which is control the clock on Offense, tough smash mouth in your face Defense, and had great special teams play.  THey played much like this game 1, but did not make the field goals.  Bama's D was ranked #1 for a reason and they showed it and flexed for everyone on the National Stage last night.  Congrats to Les Miles for a great season and congrats to Alabama for another BCS championship.

Bowl Season continues

Everyone says that Bowl season starts today due to the BCS bowls.
Today's Bowls:
Penn St. Houston: I like Houston, Too Much Case Keenum and Penn St is just a wreck right now.
Ohio St  Florida: The battle of Urban Mayer, Ohio St his new team and Florida was his old team.  I like the Gators to much speed with Rainey and Demps, however this might be the last time for a long time that Ohio St is bad.
Michigan St Georgia: Bell is tough and Michigan St is a pretty good team, but I like Georgia here.  Bieng a Tech fan you will not here this often, but  Murray and Crowell will be to much for Michigan St.
Nebraska South Carolina:  I like South Carolina here Jeffery will be the big deal in this game.
Wisconsin Oregon:  I like Oregon here, too much speed with Thomas and James.  This should be an exciting game, but I like Thomas and James.
Oklahoma State Stanford:  Weeden vs Luck, BLackman vs. the TEs of Stanford.  I like Luck over Weeden and I like Blackman over the TEs over Stanford.  SO what does this mean, it is a coin flip and I am going Stanford on this.
I hope all had a Happy New Year and sit back and buckle up for an exciting day of Bowl games
